Students union elections have always been a volatile issue in the subcontinent, affording as they do opportunities for forays into national politics. In the past decade there have been attempts to provide guidelines for these. The following Code of Conduct, established by the Supreme Court of India for DUSU and other College Union Elections for the session 2008-09, is one such example.
